An illegal alien who has been in America some 50 years has been arrested after police believe he stole a dead veteran’s identity to obtain an array of benefits.
Cops say in 2012, 69-year-old Rene Ortiz Quintana posed as a dead veteran who died in 1994 to get “social security, VA and other Federal, state and local benefits,” ABC 15 reports.
According to police, Quintana stole the ID of Ruben J. Gallardo and “got an Arizona identification card, a state health card, a Phoenix health plan card and a VA choice card.”
Quintana received benefits totaling $29,062.19.
The illegal alien is charged with “fraudulent schemes, theft and seven counts of identity theft along with six counts of forgery,” Fox News reports.
